Progress. The new Inuit Art Centre in the Winnipeg Art Gallery receives some great news!

In our blog post of September 15, 2015, we made reference to an ambitious plan to construct a new Inuit Art Centre at the Winnipeg Art Gallery in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Yesterday, it was announced that The Winnipeg Foundation has granted a significant amount of money to the Winnipeg Art Gallery and its new Inuit Art Centre. The foundation is contributing $950,000!

Significant financial contributions like this one allow for the early progress of major cultural projects. At the best of times, Canadian art & culture initiatives of all types, have been challenged to attract the required resources to thrive. We must not underestimate the size and significance of the Winnipeg Foundations’s financial contribution. This grant is one of the largest grants in the 95 year history of the Winnipeg Foundation.
